Enchanting Egypt with Abdullah Nassr
We spent two amazing weeks with Abdullah and couldn’t have been more engaged, educated, entertained and well fed! Everything from spice shopping via a sunset sail (with a side trip to McDonals for fries cause…everyone loves fries!) to the cotton market, to the rug shop, all the pyramids, sphinx, too numerous to count, a cruise on the Nile and I will ALWAYS know that Abdullah personally arranged for me to see falling stars in the Sahara. It. Was. Magical.
Soul Connections, Past and Present
Abdullah Fayed was our Egyptologist helping to lead us on a Peter Woodbury tour in November 2021 in the midst of the global COVID pandemic. His presence enabled my wife and I to truly enjoy the many historical and cultural wonders Egypt offers to visitors. He made us feel safe and welcome and due to his many connections provided us with access to sites and people not offered by more traditional touring companies.
I remember marveling at watching him move through crowds with ease and grace all the while helping our small group to see and understand his proud cultural heritage. He also helped us connect with the present culture as we visited shops and restaurants and shared time with real people.
We brought home many wonderful memories, along with lots of photos and artistic treasures, many of which are now on display in our home. Thinking back on our tour the one moment that best helps me to remember Abdullah was his reverent sharing of his faith as we visited the many magnificent mosques he showed us. Unlike the ancient sites these were living monuments teeming with faithful followers of The Prophet.
Abdullah for me is a most humble servant of God and of those with whom he travels in his daily life. It was a joy to meet him and to share the time we had together during our tour. I encourage anyone who wishes to truly “see” Egypt through native eyes to embark upon a tour, any tour, with Abdullah Fayed as your guide. You will return with much more than you imagined was possible.
gentle in nature and generous in spirit.
Abdullah is gentle in nature and generous in spirit. The tour he leads is filled with more knowledge than you can get your head around in one journey. Each day is filled with destinations that come alive from the photo books you read years ago.
The pyramids are second to none. I found the experience delightful in how Abdullah managed the locals in such a way that allowed our tour group a bit of meditation time in some of the most sacred locations. …must have been his smile 🙂
I felt safe during our tour, which was at a most precarious time for the Middle Eastern region. { Let there be Peace on Earth }
I feel like my greatest discovery was the humanity of the Muslim people; they are truly lovely.
If Egypt is on your Bucket List ~ don’t wait ~ go there now!!
I must add: Stay at Pyramids Guesthouse Lounge a few days before or after your tour. This belongs to Ehab Nasr, the brother of Abdullah. Take in the energy of the Grand Pyramid ~ your life will be forever altered.
